Stock Screen

Definition:
A stock screen is a software tool, usually Internet-based, that allows investors to define a set of criteria for his or her investment in a stock. The screen then finds all stocks that match the criteria.
Also Known As: Stock Screening
Examples:
A stock screen might include the following criteria: listed on Nasdaq; P/E of <25; annual EPS growth of 10% for past 5 years; in Health Care sector.
