NASDAQ

By Ken Little, About.com

Definition: The NASDAQ, which used to be known as the over-the-counter market, is the relative new kid on the block of stock exchanges. Trades are executed over an electronic network of brokers. Many of the companies listed here are fairly young and this is the home of many of today’s survivors of the high tech boom of the 1990s.
